Meet Dr. Peter H. Pruden

 


Biography

Dr. Pruden has been practicing in Huntington, New York since he started his private practice in 1985.  



Oral Surgeon

After completing four years of postgraduate dental education, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon goes on to complete four or more years of intensive postdoctoral, hospital-based, surgical residency training.  Due to this extensive training and experience with jaw and bone surgery, Dr. Pruden is highly skilled in the placement of dental implants.

Diplomat

Dr. Pruden is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and equipped to perform many different procedures within an office setting, including dental implants. This provides the patient with the convenience of having their x-rays and diagnosis as well as their treatment all done in one location.

Fellow

Dr. Pruden is also a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. As such he is an expert in outpatient anesthesia and pain management in the oral facial area. In fact, as an oral surgeon, he can administer general anesthesia/ I.V. sedation which is extremely beneficial for patients who desire to be asleep during implant surgery. This is an efficient and cost effective way to perform many procedures while maintaining maximum patient comfort and safety.

Hospital Privileges

For over twenty years Dr. Pruden has been serving the Huntington Community and continues to do so. He is on staff as an attending Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at both Huntington Hospital and Nassau Community Medical Center on Long Island.  He is also a founding member of Dentists for a Better Huntington, a group which provides charitable services to the community.

Associations

A recognized leader in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Pruden freely shares his time with his peers.  He holds active memberships with several professional associations, among them the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Suffolk County Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society, and the Dental Society of the State of New York.

Chemical Dependency Committee

Additionally, Dr. Pruden serves as a member of the Suffolk County Dental Society's Board of Delegates and is the Society's Chemical Dependency Committee Chairperson. Dr. Pruden holds hospital privileges with Huntington Hospital and Nassau County Medical Center.
